Resounding thanks to retiring Chair

A Winchester-based acoustic specialist is stepping down from a key role at a national trade body. Dan Saunders is handing over the reins at the Association of Noise Consultants (ANC), having completed his two-year term as Chair. An acoustics specialist with Clarke Saunders Associates, Dan followed in the footsteps of his father, Alan Saunders and colleague Ed Clarke, in taking up the position.

Alan was Chair of the ANC from 1999 to 2001 and Ed from 2006 to 2008, with Dan’s term - 2018 to 2020 - completing a hat trick for the three directors. The ANC is the voice of professional consultancy in acoustics, noise and vibration, representing 110 member companies across the UK. Its purpose is to highlight how ANC members lead the way to improve acoustics for the whole of society - and to promote high standards and good practice in the industry.

Graham Parry, President of the ANC, thanked Dan for his work as Chair over the last two years. He said: “A significant strength of the association is the expertise our Board members bring and their commitment to the industry overall – and Dan has exemplified this in his two years as chair. “As an association, we are grateful to Dan for his hard work and support.”

Based at Clarke Saunders Associates offices in Winchester and London, Dan hands over to newly elected Chairman Paul Shields. Dan said: “It has been a privilege to take on this role in the association, to celebrate the unique skills of the acoustic and noise professionals in our membership and highlight the ingenuity of our members’ work as well as the positive impact that good acoustics brings to society overall.”
